HOW CAN THIS SITE WILL BE HELPFUL, AS IT CLAIMS TO BE (IN PHARMACOLOGY AND IN LIFE ………)

Now this is something i want to talk about……..being as a teacher (I am Assistant Professor in Pharmacology with MBBS, MD degree), i always feel that Pharmacology is considered as a tough subject among students, even i had the same opinion, till i decided to pursue this branch as my Post Graduate subject.

Students always approaches me complaining about the volatility of this subject (Yep, it evaporates from the nascent minds of my dear students)

So for the better understanding of the subject, concepts will be published on regular interval , as well as you tube videos links will also be available in the pharmacology section (To see Pharmacology section click on the upper right side “Menu” button).

As a Medical student we have started a journey, we have to dedicate lots of time to studies and learning……..but what about life and its lessons ?

So, a “life” section is also there for the basic understanding of life’s fundamentals. (To visit “life” section click on the upper right side “Menu” button).

As the disciple of science we always believe in Evidences……and what if my concepts regarding life will prove wrong (Rest assure about Pharmacology), so we will discuss here only about the facts based on books (Worlds bestsellers) ………..

So, lets hope this journey with pharmacology.life will be a great and joyful one……….

Happy Learning……………..

HOW TO STUDY OR LEARN PHARMACOLOGY………

Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever

– Mahatma Gandhi

Now this question is asked by nearly all students …. sometime even days before examinations……..As per my opinion there is not a single answer to this and it may vary from person to person, but without being diplomatic, lets try to answer this….

First of all pharmacology contains a lots of concepts and the different and difficult names of drugs/Medicines (I personally want to meet the person who is responsible for this….. ) and we have to learn them all (or at least the important ones…) and we try to understand the concepts and then try to remember it…….and after some time when we open topic we came to know that we forget all of it…..(I know, Beauty of Pharmacology…)

Now how to resolve this…..

  1. Read the chapter / Topic / concept thoroughly.
  2. Then keep a small notebook with you (Always)
  3. After reading the Topic, just close your eyes, and try to remember what you have learned, as you are going to teach it to someone ( as per my opinion it should be as simple that you can teach it to a non medical person, if you are not able to do it…….believe me you have just crammed it) (रटना )
  4. After this just write the topic in brief (Very brief) in your notebook ……. lets assume you have read about Antigout drugs then just write the classification and not more then one line about its main drugs, or you have read about Adrenergic drugs then just note the classification, uses(only name) and Adverse effects (only name)
  5. In short, just write it in brief, and revise it before going to sleep or early morning (whichever suits you best), you can make a index and can write how many times you have revised, in front of topic
  6. And as topic is written in brief, you can revise it in 2-5 mins max, and when you are going to read that topic again then use your notes as framework, to fill all the details around your memory blocks you have made by remembering your notes.
  7. Teach the topic to your friends, it will help you to remember and understand topic deeply, also it will be easy to recall by you and your friend/friends.
  8. So in nutshell, revision is the key and make it simple….
